2024 Harvest, Ancient tree tea, South West Yunnan
Our ancient Black Tree Tea possesses a unique, rich, wildflower/honey aroma and has a very distinctive chocolate taste. We highly recommend this tea to newbies and connoisseurs alike. It offers a richer and greater complex taste than other common Yunnan black teas making this a rare and special treat.
Made from the ancient (300-year-old) forest-grown tea tree variety, Camellia Taliensis, found only in South West Yunnan. Only fresh leaves of the ancient wild trees are used to craft Black Beauty Tea.

-
Flavour: Cacao, dark chocolate, caramel, cherry, honey,
-
Mouthfeel: Smooth, full-bodied, malty, long-lasting lingering aftertaste
Brewing Idea
-
1-3g of tea per teacup (200ml). Boil fresh, filtered water to 95℃. Steep for 2-3 minutes.
-
Try this with a larger leaf ratio and short steeping time too (traditionally called gong fu style). Boil water to 95℃. Use 4-8g tea leaves in your Tea Basket or Gaiwan
It should give you 6-8 rounds: start off with 6s, 8s, 10s, 15s, 20s, etc.
-
Worry not if you don’t have traditional gongfu teaware. You can easily use your Tea Basket to steep the tea in your cup or use a small teapot not using more than 150-200ml water. Porcelain is highly recommended, for bringing out the optimal flavour of the Black Beauty tea.
