2020 Spring Harvest - Yunnan Province, China

A rich mouthful of chocolate biscuits, Spiralling Dragon is a cup of full-bodied maltiness without the astringency of most common black teas. Enjoy this as a Luxurious Breakfast Tea (No milk or sugar is needed due to its natural sweetness), or enjoy in the afternoon with cake. Comforting, soothing and heartwarming. A really treasured Yunnan Treat.

Shaped into small snail shapes, Spiralling Dragons are entirely hand-processed from one leaf and one bud from the Yunnan Tea Bushes that are also used to make numerous Pu-Erh Teas in the region.

When brewed, these snail-shaped leaves will unfurl, revealing the one bud and one leaf structure. The amber coloured liquor produces a medium strength liquor with a savoury light scent reminiscent of rye bread and spices characteristic to Yunnan Tea. The flavour of this Dian Hong Tea (Yunnan Red Tea) is a sweet and malty flavour combination, very much like freshly baked sweet bread, with notes of cocoa and Medjool dates.

Brewing Idea

  • 3-4g of tea per 200ml water. Boil fresh, filtered water at 95℃. Steep for 2 minutes.

  • A Perfect black tea to have without milk and sugar due to its natural sweetness, smoothes and lack of astringency. If you are inclined to have it with milk, allow it to steep for 5+ minutes.
  • Tea Notes

    • Appearance: Amber coloured liquor.

    • Aroma: Cacao, rye, honey, tobacco, spices, woody notes

    • Flavour: Chocolatey, malt, biscuits, sugarcane, Medjool dates.
